Scubaspa Yang offers a very different take on the traditional Maldivian liveaboard. Together with her sister yacht, Scubaspa Ying, she combines two worlds that rarely meet on a dive safari: serious diving and a fully developed wellness experience. Instead of choosing between an active holiday and time for relaxation, guests can enjoy both on the same yacht, with a professional spa, experienced therapists, and a wide range of treatments available throughout the cruise.
The idea behind Scubaspa Yang was born from the personal experience of a passionate diver and his wife, a physiotherapist. After their honeymoon in the Maldives, they began imagining a liveaboard where divers and non-divers could enjoy their holiday together without compromising on their individual interests. Their vision was to create a floating resort where diving, wellness, comfort and shared experiences would become equal parts of the journey. Launched in 2013, Scubaspa Ying was the first yacht to introduce this concept, while Scubaspa Yang followed as her sister vessel, bringing the same distinctive philosophy to life.
At 50 metres long, Scubaspa Yang is one of the largest liveaboards in the Maldives. She can accommodate up to 40 guests in a selection of spacious cabins and suites, all with private bathrooms, individually controlled air conditioning and contemporary interiors. The Manta and Dolphin Suites are particularly distinctive, featuring large oval-shaped windows that create the feeling of staying in an elegant boutique hotel rather than on a traditional safari yacht.
There is no shortage of space outside the cabins either. Scubaspa Yang features several sun decks, stylish lounges, a bar and generous open-air areas that provide plenty of room to relax throughout the day, even when the yacht is operating at full capacity. Guests can also keep up with their fitness routine in the onboard mini gym.
Diving remains an essential part of the experience aboard Scubaspa Yang. She visits some of the Maldives' best-known dive sites and offers up to four guided dives per day, with night dives included on selected itineraries. A dedicated dive boat operates alongside the main yacht, allowing diving activities to run efficiently while keeping the living areas quiet and equipment-free between dives.
Wellness is given an equally prominent place on Scubaspa Yang. Professionally trained therapists from across Asia staff the approximately 300-square-metre spa and offer a broad range of treatments and wellness programmes. Massages, sunrise yoga and open-air treatments bring a genuine resort atmosphere to the middle of the Indian Ocean. Guests can choose between combined spa-and-diving packages, spa-only options or individual treatments during their stay. Maldivian Charter Club guests appreciate these packages opportunities very high.
The experience aboard Scubaspa Yang extends to the dining table, with varied international menus, themed evenings and beach barbecues on remote sandbanks. Just as memorable, however, are the small touches repeatedly mentioned by guests: personalised service, a favourite drink or coffee prepared at the right moment, unexpected treats and thoughtful surprises. Confirmation of booking requires full payment of the deposit – equivalent to twenty-five percent (25%) of the booking value,
This twenty-five percent (25%) deposit is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.
The remaining balance is due no later than sixty (60) days prior to the departure date. In case of any outstanding balance less than sixty (60) days prior to departure, the booking will be automatically cancelled without entitlement to any refund.
For bookings made less than sixty (60) days prior to the departure date, full payment is required within seventy-two (72) hours of booking.
CANCELLATION BY THE GUEST
The following cancellation fees shall apply based on the number of days prior to the scheduled departure date:
More than 120 days before the departure date – a cancellation fee of twenty-five percent (25%) of the total booking value applies. Alternatively, the 25% deposit may be credited toward a future booking under the same name, provided the new departure date falls within twelve (12) months of the date of the cancellation.
Between 60 and 120 days before the departure date – a cancellation fee of twenty-five percent (25%) of the total booking value applies; no refunds or credits will be issued.
60 days or less before the departure date – a cancellation fee of a hundred percent (100%) of the total booking value applies; no refunds or credits will be issued.
No refunds shall be issued for no-shows.
CANCELLATION BY THE COMPANY
SCUBASPA guarantees cruise departures with a minimum of twelve (12) Guests. Should this minimum not be reached, SCUBASPA reserves the right to cancel the scheduled cruise.
In the event of cancellation due to insufficient occupancy, SCUBASPA shall notify the Guest no less than twenty-one (21) days prior to the scheduled departure date.
In case of cancellations made by SCUBASPA, all related payments received from the Guest shall be promptly and fully refunded by SCUBASPA. This refund shall constitute the full extent of SCUBASPA’s liability with respect to the cancelled booking.
