THE  EMPEROR EXPLORER  IS NOT OPERATING ANYMORE, AS SHE WAS LOST FOLLOWING A FIRE ON MAY  9th 2026.

Emperor Explorer is the flagship of the Emperor fleet in the Maldives – sleek and dynamic, yet solid and reassuring. A modern yacht built in 2019 and refitted in 2024, she measures 42 × 13 meters and is one of the most spacious in her class in the Maldives, offering a true sense of openness and stability. High safety standards, excellent service and cuisine, and top-tier dive organization define the experience on board.

Emperor Explorer represents the mature classic of Maldivian liveaboards. With a 700 hp engine, generators, and a desalination system producing up to 15 tons of fresh water per day, she is fully autonomous for extended crossings between atolls and long-range itineraries. Her purpose is clear: to explore.

On board, Emperor Explorer accommodates up to 26 guests in 13 cabins, each equipped with air conditioning and a private bathroom. Upper deck cabins feature panoramic windows, while interiors throughout are bright, modern, and airy, with a strong sense of space. Cleanliness is impeccable.

Emperor Explorer produces a distinct feeling of being on a large vessel: wide walkways, generous relaxation areas, and excellent stability even in open ocean conditions. The layout is designed so everyone can find their perfect spot. Multiple indoor and outdoor lounges, a spacious dining area, a well-stocked bar, and a sun deck with loungers and a jacuzzi invite you to unwind between dives while watching the ever-changing colors of the ocean.

Emperor Explorer is superbly equipped for diving. A separate dive dhoni handles all logistics and wet operations; on board are compressors, complimentary Nitrox for certified divers, and well-organized gear preparation areas. Everything runs smoothly and efficiently, allowing guests to focus on what truly matters – the dive itself.

Emperor Explorer’s itineraries cover the best regions of the Maldives: North and South Malé, Ari, Baa, and Vaavu atolls, as well as extended expeditions to more remote areas. Here, encounters with manta rays, whale sharks, reef sharks, eagle rays, and vast schools of tropical fish are not rare—they are the very reason divers return again and again.

The crew on Emperor Explorer is international, with English as the working language for briefings, dive planning, and guest communication. Dive guides speaking German, French, Spanish, or Italian are often present as well; their availability varies by departure and can be confirmed in advance.

Life on board Emperor Explorer follows the rhythm of the ocean: early wake-ups and the first dive in the soft morning light, when the sea is at its calmest, followed by breakfast, more dives, and time to relax on deck – reading, napping, or simply listening to the gentle sound of the waves. Evenings bring dinner and conversations that inevitably circle back to one theme: what was discovered underwater that day.

Yes, Emperor Explorer is designed for divers, and their like-minded companions. This is not a family-oriented setting with small children. Divers are cool people, but human beings also, and really enjoy complimentary glass of wine with dinner.

Guests of Maldivian Charter Club who have been on board Emperor Explorer consistently highlight the yacht’s cleanliness and the variety and quality of the cuisine.

When at night Emperor Explorer rests quietly in a lagoon, the water around turns into a dark mirror, the sky above fills with dense constellations, and in that stillness, it becomes clear that everything unnecessary has been left far behind – here, there is only the ocean, your breath, and the anticipation of the next dive.

The yacht’s description is subject to change, so if any features or services are particularly important to you, please confirm them at the time of booking.
