Pearl 111 was born from a shared dream of creating a different way to travel – one rooted in nature, authenticity and a slower pace of life. The story began in Sri Lanka, where Philippe G. created an eco-lodge among the tea plantations, guided by the idea that hospitality and sustainability could exist in harmony with the natural world. A few years later, his longtime friend Philippe A., a passionate lover of the sea, joined the adventure, and together they imagined a natural continuation of their vision on the water: a graceful three-masted wooden schooner where the journey itself would become part of the experience. Discovered in Turkey, Pearl 111 was sailed to Sri Lanka before crossing the Indian Ocean to the Maldives on a three-day voyage, where she began the second chapter of the Ecolodgia story. Today, the same philosophy remains at the heart of the experience – slow, authentic and responsible travel, moving gently from atoll to atoll and allowing guests to discover the Maldives at a more natural rhythm.
A three-masted wooden schooner measuring 30 metres in length, Pearl 111 was built in 1998 and renovated in 2019. She accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins, creating an intimate atmosphere on board. Her varnished wood interiors and classic nautical character evoke the romance of traditional sailing, while air-conditioned cabins, comfortable living spaces and attentive service provide the essentials for a relaxed voyage.
Pearl 111 offers 3 types of cruises to discover Maldives: Dive cruise, Discover cruise, Surf cruise. Divers may encounter manta rays, reef sharks, nurse sharks and dolphins, while snorkellers and non-divers can enjoy swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing and time on the beaches, and surfers – enjoy the waves.

Meals are mix of Asian and European cousine, are served in a relaxed setting, while beach barbecues and evenings beneath the stars add a special touch to the voyage.
