Carpe Diem

The yacht Carpe Diem, named after the Roman poet Horace’s words, embodies various meanings of this motto: Seize the day, Live here and now, Enjoy every moment, in sync with the rhythm of life in the Maldives.

The first yacht of the Carpe Diem fleet, Carpe Diem, is a 35-metre liveaboard that has been welcoming divers and ocean lovers since 2008. Refurbished in 2025 to modern standards while retaining her authentic Maldivian character, she accommodates just 20 guests in 10 comfortable cabins spread across three decks, creating an atmosphere that feels personal and relaxed.

At the heart of every voyage is the Maldives itself. Supported by a fully equipped dive dhoni with Nitrox facilities, compressors and dedicated dive staff, guests of Carpe Diem enjoy seamless access to some of the world's most celebrated underwater environments. Dramatic channel dives, vibrant coral reefs, manta cleaning stations, schools of eagle rays, reef sharks, turtles and seasonal whale sharks are all part of the experience.

Behind the scenes, an international and local crew of 13 under Dutch management ensures that everything runs effortlessly, allowing guests to focus on what truly matters: diving, exploring and enjoying the journey. Spacious decks, en-suite cabins, individually controlled air conditioning, panoramic ocean views and the warm hospitality for which the vessel has become known make Carpe Diem feel like a floating home in the Indian Ocean. Many guests, including clients of the Maldivian Charter Club, return year after year, drawn back by the atmosphere as much as the diving itself.

Meals on board Carpe Diem are on par with the yacht's overall high standards. The cuisine is international, with Maldivian, Thai, Indian, Italian, Chinese, and European influences. The menu is varied and includes fresh fish, chicken, beef, pasta, rice, vegetables, soups, and salads. Traditional Maldivian dishes are also served – simple, flavorful, and tasty.

Divers’ non-diving friends are also welcome and receive attention on board Carpe Diem very positively. However, non-divers should keep in mind that some itineraries are tailored to advanced divers and feature strong currents, so there may be fewer activities or points of interest for them to enjoy.

Some journeys are measured in miles. A voyage aboard Carpe Diem is measured in moments – the first glimpse of a manta ray, the laughter shared on deck after a dive, the stillness of a deserted lagoon at dusk. In the Maldives, these are the moments worth seizing.

The yacht’s description is subject to change, so if any features or services are particularly important to you, please confirm them at the time of booking.
